Transforms are never guaranteed to activate at NERO Indiana, but there is the possibility that they may at any given event. However, only characters with transforms that have been approved or statted by the NERO Indiana Head of Plot will activate when transforms are raised.
Out of Chapter transforms must be submitted at least 1 week prior to an event to guarantee that they can be properly reviewed and potentially revised. It is preferred if they are submitted 2 or more weeks prior to an event.
If you intend to pursue transform plot at NERO Indiana, we recommend having your transform converted into our system. (Note that this is not required to pursue transform plot at NERO Indiana). When you submit your existing transform (with associated statistics) to NERO Indiana, you can ask that your transform be converted to our system. In that case, rather than approving, denying, or modifying your existing statistics, we will build your transform our system. If your transform does not already exist, creating it is an involved process; we ask that you give us as much time as possible prior to asking for your transform to be converted into our system.
Players who NPC for NERO Indiana can acquire a transform or increase the power of their existing transform by NPCing. However, only the following transforms can be acquired or enhanced in this way:
- Elemental Air Warrior
- Elemental Earth Warrior
- Elemental Flame Warrior
- Elemental Water Warrior
- Elemental Chaos Warrior
- Elemental DarknessWarrior
- Elemental Light Warrior
- Elemental Order Warrior
- Elemental Death Warrior
- Elemental Dream Warrior
- Elemental Life Warrior
- Elemental Reason Warrior
- Skeletal Warrior
- Tyrran Warrior
NERO Indiana transform sheets consist of the following sections:
- General information
- Base statistics - these are the base statistics associated with this transform while it is active.
- Tier 1 - These abilities can be purchased by Tier 0 transforms. They are ALL available to characters with Tier 1 transforms.
- Tier 2 - These abilities can be purchased once 8 points have been spent on Tier 1 abilities (or once all Tier 1 abilities have been purchased).
- Tier 3 - These abilities can be purchased once 8 points have been spent on Tier 2 abilities (or once all Tier 2 abilities have been purchased).
Characters who are actively pursuing plot associated with their transform or who gain their transform through NPC points begin with Tier 1 transforms. Characters who reject the plot associated with their transforms begin only with their Base statistics.
Transform Rules
When a plot member says "Transforms Up" or otherwise indicates that transforms of a particular type should raise, affected players with approved transforms are permitted to raise their transforms within the next 10 seconds. PCs are NEVER required to raise their transforms against their will.
Abilities listed on transformation sheets are renewed each Limited Reset unless otherwise indicated.
Transforms may be raised only to Base (or Tier 0), Tier 1 or Tier 2 states. In this case, any purchased abilities above that Tier are unavailable.
Transforms can be suppressed at any time, even while the character is unconscious, bound, feebleminded, etc. The decision is made by the Spirit (and is thus Out of Game).
Unless specifically stated, transforms will lower when the module upon which they were raised ends or when the transformed PC leaves the module.
The act of transforming ("One, I transform. Two, I transform. Three, I transform.") is a visible effect even if your transform has no visible effects. The same is true when transforms are lowered or suppressed ("One, I suppress/revert. Two, I revert. Three, I revert.") Transforming, Reverting, and Suppressing cannot be interrupted.
The effect Suppress Magic will lower the transform of an affected character and prevent it from being raised again for 10 minutes.
Transforms may not be active without proper repping unless a Plot Member explicitly approves it and is present. Note that not having repping requirements for an active transform MUST be explicitly approved, in writing, by the head of plot.
characters who are actively pursuing the plot associated with their transform begin with all tier 1 abilities. Characters who reject this plot are required to purchase tier 1 abilities with points awarded for roleplaying.
